Two Portland groups Recieve Significant Contributions

Two groups, one in Portland and the other with strong local connections, received funding from a well-known philanthropist. The Oregon Arts and Culture Recovery Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation has received $4 million , and the BOMA Project receive $10 million from MacKenzie Scott. It was revealed that she and her husband Dan Jewett will donate $2.74 billion to further community-centric services.

OCF funds will be support a fund was launched in April 2008 as a cooperative group of art funders to gather resources for artists and art organizations in need, according to spokesperson Stephanie Swanson. The fund has so far been supported by Covid-19 Affected small art organizations and individual artists issued 5.3 million US dollars, focusing on communities of color, the disabled, immigrants and refugees, as well as rural, LGBTQ+ and low-income groups.

The BOMA project aims to help women build flexible families and escape from abject poverty and promote change in their rural communities.
