The town of Fairfax, Vt., has been named one of Vermont's "IDEAL" communities�a group of municipalities "dedicated to advancing racial and other forms of equity across the state through shared learning and tangible action," per a press release.
The Vermont Community Foundation has awarded the town $10,000 from its Equitable & Inclusive Communities grant round to support programs run by Fairfax Neighbors for Racial Equity, which will use the funds to "build and strengthen connections between neighbors and help residents gain the skills to support productive dialogue with each other," per the release.
"This award coincides with Fairfax becoming one of Vermont's IDEAL (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Action and Leadership) communities," the press release notes.
"Fairfax Neighbors for Racial Equity is eager to join with the Town of Fairfax in making Fairfax a warm and welcoming community for all."
