The San Francisco Bay Area's Altalivermore Community Foundation has handed out nearly $200,000 in grants to 29 community organizationsthe most it's given out in its 17-year history, the East Bay Times reports.
"We are proud to be recognized by our community as an organization that serves, and we hope to be able to extend our support even further in future years," Bassant Abdelrahman, co-chair of the grant program, says in a press release.
This year's requests were the most the foundation has ever received, receiving more than $320,000 from the Rotary Club of Livermore and the Rotary Club of Livermore Valley, according to the East Bay Times.
The grants were awarded to youth, cultural diversity, education, veterans, cancer patients, residents experiencing housing insecurity, and individuals with disabilities, among other things. Read the Entire Article
