Phil Gilchrist is leaving his post as executive director of the Anton Art Center in Mount Clemens, Mich., to take a job as executive director of Advancing Macomb.
"I think there were a lot of factors that contributed to my decisionbut I'm absolutely confident that the Anton Art Center is in good hands," Gilchrist tells the Detroit Free Press.
Gilchrist, who has led the community art center for eight years, says he is "very passionate about what they've been doing for nonprofits in the community," and he hopes his new role will continue that work.
"There are tremendous opportunities for Advancing Macomb to grow and strengthen its nonprofit capacity building and community development efforts," he says.
