A public library in a small New York town is getting a facelift thanks to a $400,000 state grant.
Rensselaer Falls Mayor Michael Hammond announced the grant Thursday, which will fund a rehabilitation and expansion project at the library's shared building with the Canton Free Library, the Daily Gazette reports.
"This project is not just about enhancing infrastructure; it's about creating a space where our children can thrive," Hammond said in a press release.
"An expanded library and community center will serve as a hub for education, community engagement, and a safe haven for our youth and elderly populations," he added.
The project is expected to begin in May 2024 and wrap up in July 2025.
