If you've got a kid who doesn't seem to be able to finish his or her homework, there's a solution: tutors.
"I volunteer at a tutoring center in my community that is free of charge and parents can drop their children off after school in order for them to work with teachers and volunteers to complete their homework," a blogger at Education Week writes.
"This gives students stability and a safe place to do homework and study while their education is being promoted by the structure of their lifestyle," she continues.
"One example is how the National Low Income Housing Coalition did a study proving that'instability is the greatest predictor of student's chronic absenteeism from school,'" writes the blogger.
"They found that if a student had an insatiable home life it was directly correlated with decreased attendance and lower grades compared to their classmates.
While this may seem fairly obvious and clear there needs to be a solution for those students who are not gaining the stable home life their classmates are lucky enough to have, one answer is tutoring centers."
