There's a new player in the social-entrepreneurship game in Asia, and it's a woman.

Padong Gomer, a 31-year-old entrepreneur from Bangladesh, is the newest member of the Asia Social Entrepreneurship Network, a network of more than two dozen social enterprises in 14 Asian countries, reports the BBC.

Gomer's brainchild is called Angels Social Network, which bills itself as " Asia's first social-entrepreneurship network for women."

The idea is for women to start businesses that provide services to the communities in which they live, andAngels Social Network has thus far focused on communities in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Taiwan.

But Gomer wants to expand to other countries in the region.

"It's not just about making money," she tells the BBC.

"It's about making a difference."

She says she wants to use her network to help other women start their own social-entrepreneurship businesses.

"It's not just about making money," she says.

"It's about making a difference in the communities in which they live."

She says she wants to use her network to fight gender-based violence, boost women's entrepreneurship, and help people find jobs
