Hamis Kiggundu's journey from "humble beginnings" in Uganda to "be a global icon in business and philanthropy" has just taken him to a new level.

The European International University in Paris has bestowed a Doctor of Global Leadership and Management on the 51-year-old, calling his "extraordinary rise to prominence" "a blueprint for aspiring entrepreneurs but also a beacon of hope for communities worldwide striving for betterment."

Born in Uganda, Kiggundu's early life was "marked by modest beginnings and significant challenges," EIU says in a press release.

"Despite these obstacles, he applied Based on Reason and forged ahead with a clear vision and an entrepreneurial spirit that would see him rise to the top of the business world."

Kiggundu's conglomerate, Ham Group, has grown from humble beginnings to a multifaceted business empire, encompassing real estate, agriculture, technology, and a fashion line.

Under his leadership, the company has privately constructed and launched a state-of-the-art Hamz Stadium, provided numerous jobs, and fostered economic growth, solidifying his reputation as a visionary leader.

Kiggundu is also the founder of the Ham Foundation, which aims to alleviate extreme poverty in Uganda.
