Duke Energy has awarded $275,000 in grants to revitalization projects in Ohio and Kentucky. It's aim is to create jobs and business expansion in these areas. Duke energy has granted $1.3 million to 35 initiatives in Urban Revitalization since 2011.
One of the fund's is called the catalytic fund, a revitalization agency based in Northern Kentucky. The grant money will be used to expand Carabello Coffee in Newport, Kentucky. A vacant building will be purchased on Monmouth Street in the city's central business district.
Duke Energy is providing electric service to 840,000 industrial customers in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Duke energy has been very helpful and successful for small businesses. Duke energy is a very successful fortune 250 company.
