T Rowe Price Foundation, founded by T. Rowe Price Group which is an investment management group, created a $1.3 million grant for West Baltimore. The grant required over a year of preparation and the foundation is focusing in on three main areas that they feel will best address the needs of West Baltimore: improving access to fresh fruits and vegetables, teaching families about finances and helping nonprofits build up their organization and leadership abilities.
To give the residents of West Baltimore places to buy veggies the foundation is collaborating with two other organization to grow and sell fresh produce. Building finance education will be achieved by offering classes about changing financial behaviors and classes for nonprofits will be offered training on how to more efficiently use their resources.
