In the first round of grants for 2012, the Emporia Community Foundation awarded $9,240 to five area organizations, with recipients were chosen from 16 applicants.
The focus for this grant period was quality of life with an emphasis parks and recreation. Grant recipients are: the City of Matfield Green, the Sacred Heart School, Camp Alexander, Pioneer Bluffs Historic Ranch and SOS, Inc.
