Two Salt Lake City nonprofits: Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity and the American Cancer Society (ACS), Intermountain Region, team up to build a community for cancer patients and low-income families across Salt Lake City.
The ACS plans to construct a "Hope Lodge" on a 2.2-acre site which will provide temporary housing for cancer patients and their caregivers who come to Salt Lake City for treatment. Habitat will also haul salvageable materials from the building, which will be used in the organization's projects such as build homes for low-income families.
