In the wake of the sexual misconduct allegations against Andrew Cuomo, the Democratic governor of New York is stepping down as head of the United Way of Greater Cleveland, the New York Times reports.
Augie Napoli took the job in June 2016 and led the group for six years.
"It is time for a change," he says in a statement.
"I am confident that under the leadership of August, the United Way of Greater Cleveland will continue to be a force for good in Cleveland and the entire state of New York."
Under Napoli, the United Way raised more than $1 billion for causes including affordable housing, education, and health care for low- and moderate-income residents.
In a statement, the United Way called Napoli "a leader in the fight to end violence against women and girls" and a "committed public servant."
In his new role, Cuomo says he will focus on improving the lives of women and girls in New York state.
"I am confident that under the leadership of August, the United Way of Greater Cleveland will continue to be a force for good in Cleveland," he says.
"I am also confident that under the direction of August, the United Way will continue to be a force for good in the entire state of New York."
