A new statewide initiative called Better Places encourages Vermonters to design and build thriving and inclusive public spaces in their communities.
In addition, the Better Places pilot program strengthened collaboration between the artists, community development leaders, Vermont-based funders, and local leaders, said Vermont Community Foundation CEO and President Dan Smith.
The Partnership continues to enable local leaders to develop more inviting public spaces in their communities.
This initiative helps Vermonters construct inclusive and dynamic public spaces in designated downtowns, village centers, new town centers, and neighborhood development zones. In addition to the Vermont Community Foundation, the initiative is led by the Vermont Department of Housing and Community Development.
