One of the world's biggest asset managers is teaming up with a conservation group to create a fund that will invest in natural climate solutions in South East Asia.
Schroders and Conservation International say the new fund, Akaria Natural Capital, will initially invest in 15 to 20 projects across the region over the next five years and aim to deliver long-term, positive environmental benefits as well as strong, long-term returns, Today reports.
"When we invest in the ground that we want to accelerate a nature positive future, by creating opportunities for impact beyond returns," Schroders' chief executive says in a statement.
"We're grateful to Schroders for their commitment to building scale-up natural capital investment," adds Conservation International's chief executive.
