If you're a black or Latino farmer in the Northeast, you may be in luck: The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center is offering $900,000 in funding to help you "enhance the resilience of our Northeast regional food system," Vermont Business Magazine reports.
That includes "creating new models for collaborative and cooperative milk production," "improving appropriate farm-scale technologies," and "adopting non-standard management practices," among other things.
The money is available to farmers, producer associations, and technical service providers in 11 Northeast states, according to the center's website.
The Vermont Food Security Plan is looking for input from farmers in the state.
