The grants, awarded under the second round of the state's Connecticut Communities Challenge Grant program, "will bring foot traffic, mixed-use environments, and a significant number of new housing units to eight Connecticut communities," says DECD Deputy Commissioner Alexandra Daum, per the Hartford Courant.
Groton, Conn.: The town will partner with Rogers Development to build 256 new housing units, including 51 affordable units.
Hartford, Conn.: The city will partner with Rogers Development to build a 118-key hotel, 70,000 square feet of commercial office space, and 40,000 square feet of retail space.
Meriden, Conn.: The town will partner with Rogers Development to build 10 mixed-income rental units, half of which will be affordable to families making less than 80% of the area median income.
Cromwell, Conn.: The town will partner with Rogers Development to build a mixed-use development in the downtown area.
