It's a sign of the times: Pittsfield, Mass., has become the first Massachusetts city to establish an affordable housing trust.
The New York Times reports on the creation of the trust, which will receive $500,000 from the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development.
According to the Berkshire Eagle, the trust's goal is to find "creative solutions" to the city's housing problem.
"We want to continue to focus on the things that we know work and then use something like this trust to try to, you know, come in to play," says Pittsfield's community development director.
