Bitcoin may be the future, but email encryption isn't.

That's about to change.

Volunteers of America, a 125-year-old non-profit that provides housing, health care, and life services to disabled adults, veterans, and at-risk teens, has turned to Identillect Technologies' Delivery Trust to protect its sensitive information.

The encryption service uses the blockchain technology that underpins Bitcoin to create a digital fingerprint on the recipient's end for each email, allowing the organization to meet HIPAA reporting and audit requirements.

"When we need to communicate our clients' information, either internally or externally, Delivery Trust is there to guarantee our email conversations are secure," Dave Gress, the organization's security officer, says in a press release.

Identillect CEO Todd Sexton calls Delivery Trust "a bedrock of support and service local communities across the United States."

The market for email encryption is expected to grow from $6.4 billion in 2023 to $14.

billion in 2027, with a compound annual growth rate of more than 23% over the next 10 years, according to Bloomberg.
