That's what the second-largest credit union in the US says it is doing with $800,000 in grants to 20 North Carolina non-profits.
The money, part of the foundation's Mission Development Grant program, will go toward "high-impact projects in the areas of housing, education, healthcare, and human services," the foundation's executive director tells the News & Observer.
The 20 nonprofits will use the money to expand services in areas including housing, children and youth services, mental health services, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and arts and cultural education, per a release.
"These small dollar, high value grants are making a sizeable impact for non-profits whose programs and services are critical to the people of North Carolina," the foundation's executive director says.
