A Pennsylvania county has applied for $1.5 million in state grant funding to help hundreds of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness find permanent housing.
Montgomery County's application for the Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement Fund was approved by the county commissioners last month, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The $1.5 million would be used to help people who are "very low or low income" with rent, security deposits, and utility payments, as well as those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, according to the county's Department of Health and Human Services.
It's unclear how many people would benefit from the program, but the administrator of the department's Office of Housing and Community Development says it could help at least 300 households.
