A homeless shelter in upstate New York is getting a big boost from a major bank.
The KeyBank Foundation has allocated $450,000 to A Tiny Home for Good, which has been providing affordable housing to the homeless in the Syracuse area for more than a decade, reports the Post-Standard.
The shelter expects to add 14 new tenants over the next few years, bringing the total number of people who have found a home there to about 60.
The money will be used to expand operations and provide other services for the tenants, including emergency pest control, transportation, cleaning, and more, per a press release.
"We believe it is the key to the long-term success of our formerly homeless tenants remaining stably housed," says the executive director of A Tiny Home for Good.
"In 2025, they expect to welcome home an additional 10-15 people which is an additional 14 people than they currently house and their largest growth in a single year as a transformative community."
