A group in Wadena, Minn., is getting a much-needed boost from the potato industry.
The Offutt Family Foundation has awarded the Friends of Wadena County Youth a $345,500 grant to improve the 4-H building at the Wadena County fairgrounds, KSFY reports.
The group plans to convert the main meeting room into an event center, upgrade the kitchen, and add a bathroom.
"We love seeing kids build skills, grow confidence, and lead hands-on projects, and the impact to our community is fantastic," says Offutt Farms regional manager Charlie Wachlin, who nominated the group for the grant.
