The Canadian government is dishing out $6 million to 12 projects that will help communities prepare for the effects of climate change, affordable housing, and more, the AP reports.
"From tools that will help us prepare for the impacts of climate change to research on affordability and poverty measures within local housing programs, to sensors on Northern buildings to gather data for better arctic designs, these projects will build a body of knowledge that will help address these issues and needs," says Sean Fraser, Canada's minister of housing, infrastructure, and communities, in a press release.
The projects, which will receive funding through Canada's Research and Knowledge Initiative program, are as follows:
