Atlantic City's murals may be a thing of the past, but a $1 million state grant will help bring them back into the public eye.
The Press of Atlantic City reports the New Jersey Economic Development Authority awarded Stockton University a Public Space Activation Grant in December.
The purpose of the grant is to boost the arts and culture in Atlantic City, which was hit hard by the Covid-19 virus.
"We do not do enough highlighting of the diverse cultural aspects of Atlantic City," says Michael Cagno, executive director of Stockton's Noyes Arts.
The university will work with four community development corporations in the city to implement a multistage project to promote at a higher level the arts and culture of Atlantic City and its diversity.
