When it comes to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, many investors are looking to invest in companies that have a positive social or environmental impact.
But when it comes to investing in companies trying to change the world, there's a big difference between ESG and impact investingand some big investors are starting to get serious about it.
The World Wildlife Fund, for instance, is looking to invest in some of the world's biggest companies in areas such as clean energy, agriculture, and affordable housing, as well as companies that are trying to make the world a better place, the Guardian reports.
"We're trying to invest in companies that are trying to make the world a better place," the World Wildlife Fund's chief investment officer tells the Guardian.
"We're not trying to make money.
We're trying to make money by investing in companies that are trying to make the world a better place."
According to the World Wildlife Fund, ESG investors look at how a company is run and how it contributes to the environment, while impact investors look at what the company can do to have a positive social or environmental impact.
