One in four women experience domestic violence in her lifetime, and the Mary Kay Ash Foundation is doing its part to help.
The cosmetics company has donated more than $57 million to domestic violence shelters, programs, and services since its founding in 1996, according to a press release.
The latest grants, totaling $100,000, "will ensure women seeking assistance have access to mental health counseling for themselves and their children, legal aid, childcare, groceries, basic utilities, housing, and more," per the release.
The grants were awarded to four shelters in North Texas: Genesis Women's Shelter & Support, The Family Place, Denton County Friends of the Family, and Hope's Door New Beginning Center.
