If you're looking for a place to call home in California's San Mateo County, Pescadero may be just the place for you.
That's because it's one of the most affordable cities in the state, with a median income of $51,701, reports the San Jose Mercury News.
But that doesn't mean it's a great place to live.
"It's not a great place to live, and it's not a good place to raise a family," says a resident.
"It's not the kind of place you want to live in, it's not the kind of place you want to raise a family in, and it's not the kind of place that you want to raise a family in when you're young."
That's why the city, located just south of San Francisco on the coast, is moving forward with a plan to put thousands of new homes on the market, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.
Called the "Pescadero Housing Element," it's part of a larger housing plan in the works for the city, which has long struggled with its lack of affordable housing.
The current plan calls for 1,500 new homes to be built in Pescadero over the next eight years
