When Jack and Joseph Mandel decided to donate $10 million to the United Way of Greater Cleveland in 2022, they didn't just give it to the cause.
They gave it to the endowment they started in 1953, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Now, more than 20 donors have come forward to match the gift, creating the Mandel Fund for Urban Engagement.
"We look forward to the transformational work that the United Way will accomplish through the Mandel Fund, continuing the Mandel brothers' legacy of supporting innovative solutions that drive neighborhood engagement and community development," says Dee and Jimmy Haslam of the Haslam 3 Foundation, one of the donors.
The Plain Dealer has a list of the donors.
