The Democrat secured $13.1 million in grants from the 2024 federal budget for community projects in her 7th Congressional District, which includes Selma, AL.com reports.
Some of the money will help Selma rebuild its downtown, expand services at an urban mental health clinic in Birmingham, and build a new daycare facility for the Loveman Village housing community in Birmingham, according to the Washington Post.
