If you're 55 and up in Danville, Va., you'll soon have a new place to call home.
The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development announced last week that the state is providing $11.5 million in funding for the Seeland Valley Apartments, a 52-unit apartment complex for low-to-moderate-income seniors, the Daily Progress reports.
The apartments will be named in memory of Lawrence Campbell, who died last year.
The complex will include 34 single-bedroom units and 18 two-bedroom units.
"This funding is a key source of financing for these affordable housing initiatives to support moderate- and low-income families, as well as supporting homeless reduction grants to provide rapid re- accessibility and longer-term housing solutions for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness," says Bryan Horn, director of the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development.
