Menon is the son of PNC Menon, the founder of an Indian real estate company, and he's putting his money where his mouth is: He's pledged some $3.5 million to philanthropic efforts in India and the United Arab Emirates over the next four to five years, reports the Indian Express.
"One of our key CSR goals is to empower rural communities by building 1,000 houses," says Ravi Menon.
"We believe that a home is a basic human necessity, and we are committed to making a difference in this area."
Sobha Limited, founded in 1995 by PNC Menon, also plans to establish a women's university in India, with an initial focus on women's education, per India CSR.
